THE Whalley Abbey Mystery Plays scheduled for June 12-17 have been cancelled due to the foot and mouth crisis.

BLACKBURN Arts Club is now holding readings for productions for the 2001/02 season at the club theatre from 7.30pm each night on the following dates: Tuesday, June 12, One For The Road by Willy Russell, producer Brian Lawson; Tuesday, June 19, Caught On The Hop by Derek Benfield, producer Mike Ashton; Tuesday, June 26, play to be announced, producer Andrew F Bell. BLACKBURN Symphony Orchestra's summer concert will be at Accrington Town Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday. . Tickets are £7 or £5 concessions on the door or by calling 01254 380293.

GOODSHAW Brass Band and Crawshawbooth school choir are presenting a concert at St John's Church, Burnley Road, Crawshawbooth on Friday, June 15, at 7.30pm. Admission (on the door) is £3 for adults and free for children.
