HISTORIC Chipping will provide the inspiration for a one-day writers' workshop.
The event, organised by Clitheroe Writing Group, will take place on Saturday, June 16, and is open to anyone who is keen to develop their writing skills.
The day will start with a tour of the village, led by former Ribble Valley Writer-in-Residence Caroline Gilfillan
Maureen Fenton, of the writers' group, said: "The attractive and historic setting provided by Chipping is certain to provide inspiration for a wide range of prose and poetry.
"We hope to be able to put together a booklet of the writing that comes out of the workshop."
She said the group would particularly welcome anyone who was new to creative writing. "It might be that someone has a story they want to tell, from local knowledge or their own experience," Maureen added. "This workshop could be the spur they need to get it on paper."
The workshop will begin at 10am with an introductory session at Chipping and District Memorial Hall and finish at 4pm. Lunch is included in the cost of £8.
