BLACKPOOL nightclub boss Peter Clarke braved poisonous caterpillars and blood-sucking leeches to raise much-needed cash for disabled children.
Peter and his daughter Laura have just returned from a 10-day Himalayan charity trek which involved 90 exhausting hours of hiking across some of the toughest terrain on the planet.
"We had to put up with leeches sucking our blood and poisonous caterpillars," said an exhausted Peter.
"The caterpillars were dropping from the roof of the tent at night. They sucked at your eyebrows and left your T-shirt covered in blood."
Peter, 41, and Laura, who is 21, were part of a nationwide Round Table party of 45 charity trekkers.
The family duo expect to raise £5,000 through their peak achievement, for Whizzkids, which buys electric wheelchairs for disabled children.
Peter, who lives at Belthorn, near Blackburn, runs the Heaven and Hell nightclubs in Blackpool and Leeds, as well as the Kimberley Hotel on South Promenade,
He is not intending to rest on his laurels and is now in training for the classic New York Marathon in October.
And there's no rest for daughter Laura as well. She hopped off the plane home and straight into her dancing shoes -- she's travelling to Ibiza!
