LAST year you were kind enough to print a few letters asking if anyone had any information on the music of Anne Shelton, or may remember if she sang anywhere around Accrington.
A few people wrote in to me, one at least has become a penfriend. I am pleased to report my studies went very well.
I heard other Anne Shelton songs that I liked but by then my studies had finished. I could not write about those.
I am pleased I chose Anne Shelton as my subject matter, she was a lovely star, an excellent voice and someone really special.
Big band music will stand forever. How many kids today forming a group would be able to put together a 60-piece orchestra and then find a singer as good as the late Anne Shelton. Today it is almost a lost art.
ADRIAN VINCENT-GRADY, Lemonius Street, Accrington.
