FOOT and mouth access restrictions for cross bay walks are lifted from the end of June and North Lancashire Friends of the Earth are celebrating with a Cross Bay Walk from Hest Bank to Grange over Sands on Sunday, July 1.
Registration for the walk takes place in the car park of the former railway station at Hest Bank, (just over the level crossing, from Station Road and Marine Drive) at 2.00pm. The walk starts promptly at 2.30pm. It is a nine-mile walk that should take 3.5 hours.
The route across the sands includes wading through some river channels, so please wear suitable clothing and footwear. The experience costs £5.00 for adults and £1.00 per child, this price includes an experienced guide, the provision of a safety tractor and trailer which tired children can use and a contribution to North Lancs Friends of the Earth.
There is an additional charge of £2.00 per adult and £1.00 per child, to use the return bus from Grange-over-Sands to Hest Bank. If you are interested in doing the walk, please contact Jonathan Mills, North Lancs Friends of the Earth on 389069.
