A 25-YEAR-OLD man who caused a rumpus at a school in front of children and later at his home, was bound over in the sum of £200 for 12 months.

Burnley Magistrates' Court had heard how Mark Sharples, 25, had been making threats to members of staff at Primet County Primary School, Nelson, and the headmaster called police.

Sharples, of Every Street, Nelson, admitted breaching the peace.

Elizabeth Reed, prosecuting, said officers spoke to the defendant's girlfriend who appeared very upset as were four youngsters who were with her.

The girlfriend was contacted twice on her mobile phone by the defendant as she spoke to police and when an officer talked to him, he was very angry and aggressive.

Sharples' girlfriend was frightened to return home on her own and asked an officer to go with her and the four children. They made their way back to see the back door open and moments later it closed and was heard being locked.

Mrs Reed said Sharples came out and calmed down a little. He then told police it was nothing to do with them, he lived there and was going to sort it out.

The defendant's partner and the children were sitting in the police van and Sharples was told not to approach it. He did go towards it, shouting he was going to sort her out.
