CHRIS Joynt, who will equal the club record of 86 successive appearances when he plays against Wigan on Friday. The record was set by hooker Harold Smith from October 1927 to October 1929. Joynt's run includes two as a substitute. It began with a substitute appearance in the Super League win at London on 9 April 1999.
He then made 71 successive starts before his next substitute appearance. All of his appearances have been at second row or loose forward. Joynt has scored 43 tries during the run. The record for most successive appearances for any club is 242, including two as a substitute, by hooker Keith Elwell for Widnes from May 1977 to September 1982. Elwell's substitute appearances did not come until he had made a record 239 successive starts.
