AN eight-year-old girl was rescued by firemen after she climbed on to the roof of a house in Two Gates Drive, Darwen, to retrieve her hair band.
The incident happened about 7.30pm yesterday after the item was thrown on to the empty house by a gang of youths.
Fire crews used a pair of ladders to get the girl down.
Sub officer Steve Ryan said: "She climbed on to the roof to get her hair bobble and realised it was a lot higher than it looked and couldn't move.
"Once the roof gets wet it's treacherous. She would have seriously hurt herself if she had fallen off."
