A MAN was found dead after his car left a winding road and hit an electricity substation.
James Joseph Billington, 20, of Blackburn Road, Darwen, was found dead in his car at about 4am today close to the gravel producing works of Darwen Roadstone, Goose House Lane, Darwen.
The wreckage was discovered by a passing Lancashire Ambulance crew but it is not yet clear how long Mr Billington had been there.
Firefighters had to winch the Vauxhall car from the sub station after it ended upside down.
Officers cut off the roof to remove the body from the wreckage.
No other car was involved in the accident.
