THE sixth ladies' luncheon held at Knowsley Hall to raise money for Willowbrook Hospice proved a great success. Organised by Enid Oakes, and with Businesswoman of the Year, Diane Thompson as guest speaker, the event raised almost £4,000 for the caring charity.
Following a champagne reception, more than 100 guests sat down in the State Room to a sumptuous meal of poached salmon and strawberries.
Camelot chief executive Diane Thompson then gave an amusing talk on her battle with Richard Branson before being awarded a licence to run the National Lottery.
