IT must be fantastic to be in Amanda Thompson's imagination. Because if it's anything like the wonderful world of Eclipse, it's a place of fairy tales.

The Stageworks Worldwide producer and director has renamed the show at the Pleasure Beach's Globe Theatre a circus musical this year, but it still thrills the senses with death-defying acts, beautiful ballet moves and stunning costumes.

Only this time there's more of it.

The elegant Elena Guglielmetti still suspends belief by hanging from a scarlet curtain by what looks like just her toe and when swinging eye-wateringly high on a huge hoop, but this time she is backed by a duo of leggy lookalikes.

In fact every act this year is complemented by lasers, lithe bodies and just a little sprinkling of fairy dust.

Even amazingly formed aerial artiste and associate director Vladimir as Lord Of The Elements is joined by two wannabes.

New for 2001 are clever contortionist duo from Mongolia, Uyanga Batjargal and Sainzaya Bat-Otgon, along with Germany's Constantin Malchin who spins and throws around a huge hamster wheel with unnerving ease.

But the most hotly anticipated new boy is Sam Scott-Campbell who slips admirably into the big dance shoes of Ian Meeson as master of ceremonies. Less impish and more boy band, Sam is cool, confident and one hell of a mover. Pity his mic was too low to really hear what promised to be an impressive voice.

Favourites of the night though are juggling trio Sergey Pustokhin, Alexandre Petchkarev and Viatcheslav Frolov who delight the audience with sheer skill and cute antics.

Eclipse runs at Blackpool Pleasure Beach Globe Theatre until November 4. For tickets and further information call (0870) 4445566.
