THE sister of a man found hanged at his home in Colne found a note on the sideboard and another on the cellar door saying: "Call the police."
Kathleen Livesey of Skipton Road, Colne, told an inquest at Burnley that her brother David Bainbridge was found dead at his home in Walton Street, Colne, on Friday.
He was 54, a single man who worked as a joiner.
She said he had been receiving treatment for depression from his GP and at the hospital.
Once his doctor had asked him if he had ever contemplated suicide and he said no.
She spoke to him two or three times a day and last spoke to him on the phone at 9.15am on Friday.
When she could not contact him again that day she went to his house and let herself in. She found a note on the sideboard and another saying phone the police.
The inquest was adjourned provisionally until July 5. The funeral will be on Monday.
