LOCAL companies are being urged to mirror the success of Bury-based Chadwick's and W.H. Tracey by capturing a Queen's Award for Enterprise.
The 2002 awards, the UK's highest accolade for outstanding business success, are open to top performing companies of all sizes and sectors.
Queen's Awards recognise and reward exceptional achievement and advances in all areas of business.
Firms in Bury and throughout Greater Manchester will soon receive a mailed information pack as part of a nationwide promotional campaign.
Companies can apply for a Queen's Award in one or more of three categories which cover international trade, innovation and sustainable development.
In the 1990s, foil top lid and drinking straw manufacturers Chadwick's of Bury and recyclers W.H. Tracey won coveted Queen's Awards for export achievement.
Now, future would-be Bury winners are being urged to take part in the 2002 awards scheme.
They should telephone 0870 5134486 or visit www.queensawards.org.uk for an entry pack. The deadline is October 31.
