ELLENBROOK and Boothstown Band travelled to East Lancashire to compete in the band march contests, which have been traditionally held for the past 125 years.
Under musical director Mr Brian Peacock, they put forward five contests and were awarded third prize at Greenfield playing William Rimmer's Cross of Honour -- the march made famous in the classic band film Brassed Off, performed on screen by the Grimethorpe Colliery RJB Band.
The Ellenbrook and Boothstown Band rehearses on Mondays and Thursdays between 8.15pm and 10pm, when new players are always welcome at Boothstown Methodist Chapel.
