lEMPLOYEES in Leigh who work in the local government and voluntary sectors are being offered the chance to study for a degree.
A new course at Wigan and Leigh College -- the Foundation Degree in Community Governance -- aims to address issues facing those in employment.
Angela O'Donoghue, the college's director of curriculum, said students will be able to study from their workplace as the course is partly taught over the Internet.
The course is run in conjunction with the University of Salford, and was recently launched at Wigan's Investment Centre.
