GARDENING novices and experts alike will enjoy an inspirational two-day party at Bents Garden Centre.

Recent research has revealed 30 per cent of the British population are keen gardeners, and almost half the nation admit to doing some gardening and could be encouraged to do more if they had advice, tips and inspiration.

Those three qualities will be to the fore on tomorrow and Sunday when the free-to-enter Bents' garden party features a host of exciting demonstrations, designed to inspire budding gardeners.

Barbecue and hanging-basket demonstrations, water-feature design, rose bush care and a plant clinic, where experts will advise on how to revive ailing plants are planned.

Younger visitors will be invited to try their hand at planting and will be entertained by a falconry demonstration, a treasure hunt and colouring competition, face painting and a bouncy castle.

In-store offers and the chance of holiday vouchers and a prize draw plus live jazz promise to make this third such venture a big success.

Bents managing director Ron Bent said: "We're looking forward to a great weekend -- there will definitely be something for everyone."
