FUN is on the agenda for South Fylde this weekend -- it's Lytham Club Day on Saturday (June 23).

A full timetable of events is planned for the day, including a vintage and classic car parade, family barn dancing, procession of floats, Punch and Judy and, of course, the crowning of the Rose Queen.

This year's Rose Queen will be Lytham girl Yvette Spedding, aged 12, a pupil of St Mary's Hall, Stonyhurst Boarding School. She will be representing St Peter's Church in Lytham.

Here is your guide to the festival's events:

MORNING

8.30am Assembly area closed to private cars - this includes Westby Street, Talbot Terrace, Cleveland Road, Bannister Street, Station Road, Haven Road, St John's Street and Hastings Place.

9.15am Judging of procession entries

9.30am Traffic diversion route in operation: Warton Street, Clifton Street and Church Road will be closed to traffic. The Beach will be closed to traffic from Woodville Terrace to the Hospital while the procession is in progress. Diversions will be via Forest Drive, South Park, Ballam Road, Park View Road and Saltcotes Road. Restrictions will be lifted around 12.30pm.

9.45am Punch and Judy in Market Square. More performances at 11.15am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm

10am Vintage and Classic Cars Parade. All cars must assemble in Warton Street by 9.00am. Judging will be at 9.15am

10.15am Procession moves off.

AFTERNOON

12.30pm Dispersal of procession

1pm The Pleasure Fair will be open at Park View Road. Also on Thursday, Friday and Monday evenings.

2pm Morris dancing. The Bill Cross Festival of Morris Dancers in Lytham Centre

2.15pm Rose Queen Crowning Ceremony and afternoon entertainment at Lowther Gardens, including a display by the Melton Mowbray Toy Soldiers Marching Display Band and Grand Finale at 4pm

EVENING

Until 10pm Pleasure Fair continues at Park View Road

7pm-9pm Family barn dancing. A ceilidh with music provided by the Toll Bar Band at Hastings Place

9.00pm-11.00pm Steel band Panama at Hastings Place. PROCESSION ROUTE The procession will move off at 10.15am and travel via Station Road, Clifton Street, Market Square --a short stop for the Rose Queen to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph -- Church Road, Lowther Terrace, The Beach, Warton Street, Clifton Street, and the Square where it will disperse at 12.30pm.

The Rose Queen's party and visiting queens will continue to the Assembly Rooms, Dicconson Terrace, via Market Square, Queen Street and Henry Street. At 1.40pm they will parade from Dicconson Terrace via West Beach to Lowther Gardens.
