THE Republic of Ireland has voted no in their referendum on the Nice Treaty.
I cannot imagine anyone is naive enough to believe the EU will let the matter rest at that. No doubt they will instruct the Irish Government to hold another referendum, in order to reach the "correct" decision.
If, and when, it comes, I would call on all those who voted yes to change their vote to no, not because they no longer want the Nice Treaty, but to demonstrate that they support the right of their people to choose their own future.
A second vote won't be a referendum on the Nice Treaty. It will be a referendum on the right of self-determination!
