A DEDICATED owner is being sought to give an injured jackdaw a home for the rest of its life.
The bird will never fly after leaving its nest too early and falling prey to a cat.
It was brought to the WildLife Line sanctuary, in Hollin Bridge Street, Blackburn, who now want to find an owner with a cage or aviary big enough. The four-week-old bird is a member of the crow family and has the familiar all black colouring. Helen Adsett, of the sanctuary which takes in any wildlife for rehabilitation, said the bird had reached the age when it needed to bond with a keeper.
"They are like parrots," she said, "usually very entertaining.
"You can teach them a lot - they will mimic and talk to you."
Anyone interested should call the WildLife-Line on 01254 693735.
