THE family of a man fighting for his life after colliding with a bus have kept a bedside vigil waiting for him to wake up.
David Mellelieu, 31, of Persia Street, Accrington collided with a Blackburn single-decker bus after he stepped out from the kerb on Blackburn Road, Accrington, early Thursday.
He was going home, to his partner Pat Goodwin and eight-year-old son David Lee, from his mother's house on Lonsdale Street, Accrington, when the accident happened.
Mr Mellelieu was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary with serious head injuries and later transferred to Royal Preston Hospital where he underwent surgery.
