A PRESTON man could be the next millionaire of the motor racing world thanks to his revolutionary new 'pit board' that is being tested by top Formula 1 racing teams.
Steve Whalley, a technician at the Royal Preston Hospital, came up with the design after seeing how drivers struggled to read the signs as they race around at speeds of 170mph.
Steve's simple design, which he spent thousands of pounds patenting, lets light through the back, but not the front, which makes the letters glow and much easier to see.
Now he has had interest from the biggest names in Formula 1.
Jaguar is currently testing the design at Silverstone racetrack, and the Bennetton team are trying it out in Monza, in Italy.
