REGARDING your report on schoolboy Danny Howes' Beckham haircut, I wonder if older readers remember when babies had a "cockscomb" hair style? One brushed the hair up from side to side, curled it round one's fingers and lo and behold, it came out like a cockscomb. Well we all know how he crowed on the farm.
I think a boy like Danny, with his head shaved, and a "tuff" fringe at the front, a shiny face and a nice smile looks lovely. I don't think dress rules should be broken at school and yet the teachers nowadays wear jeans -- which was never heard of in my childhood. So why reprimand the young ones?
