ASDA Accrington has kick-started a fundraising pot to send employee Chris Jenkinson to South Africa. He hopes to represent England at ju-jitsu in November.
In order to go Chris, 19, needs to raise £3,000 before August so Asda staff gave up their free time to hold a tombola and lucky dip with face painting outside the store.
Prizes included a stereo system and goods from each of the departments in Asda, along with prizes donated by Peugeot Accrington and Toyota Blackburn.
Meanwhile Chris, of Bellfield Road, Accrington, showed off his skills by giving a ju-jitsu demonstration against an opponent, protected by a padded sumo suit.
