PARENTS collected awards after participating in a council's Family Learning Activities.
Presentations were made to over 450 families at the Jan's Conference Centre, Higher Audley Street, Blackburn.
Over the past few months they had taken a variety of courses with their children. These were organised by Blackburn with Darwen Council and included parents as educators, information technology, family numeracy, and literacy courses.
Councillor Bill Taylor presented the certificates to the parents. The children will receive their certificates during school assemblies. Also in attendance was Education Action Zone (EAZ) project Director Harry Devonport and Blackburn College Principal Sheena Ewing.
Blackburn College, the Local Education Authority and the EAZ also helped the organisation. The courses were funded by the Basic Skills Agency, the Department of Education and Skills an European Social Fund.
