YOUNG bookworms in Pendle are hoping to earn themselves prizes and medals as members of the new Relay Readers club launched at Nelson Library.
It replaces the popular Junior Readers' Club and allows more opportunity to gain awards, with prizes and certificates for every ten books read and reviewed.
Senior librarian Lynne Wood said: "We hope the new club will attract more people and make it more interesting for existing members. The children will now read fewer books and get more awards.
A lot of them lost interest because they had to read so many books before getting a reward so hopefully this will keep them interested."
