CLAYTON Harriers are inviting local runners to pay tribute to a popular stalwart of the Lancashire running scene. The Roger Hargreaves Memorial 5M Road Race is tonight at 7:30pm. Location is Foulridge Village Hall on the A56 between Foulridge and Earby.

A new race for this season is the Witton Park 4M Trail Race. To be held on Friday night from the Pavilion in the park, the race is organised by Blackburn Road Runners. It starts at 7:30pm, and there will be a 2M junior race at 7pm.

There's a choice of 10K races on Sunday, both over quick courses. The White Rose 10K starts at Skipton Rugby Union Ground, off Engine Shed Lane, Skipton. A fun run at 11am precedes the main event which is at noon. The Charles Saer 10K is at Fleetwood at 11am, a 3K fun run begins at 10:30am. Race HQ is The Charles Saer County School, Grange Road, Fleetwood.

Rochdale Harriers are presenting their 10K on Tuesday evening. The venue is Springfield Park, Bolton Road, Rochdale at 7:15pm. Also on Tuesday, the Lancaster 20 Barrier Challenge is a 5M multi-terrain race which sets off from Carnforth High School at 7pm.

The third race in the Chorley Harriers Leyland Trucks 4M Series is on Wednesday. Like all the races in the series, registration is from the Baron's Rest Public House, Astley Village, Chorley in time for a 7:30pm start.

The Danefield Relay on Wednesday is a 3 x 3M race over well defined tracks and bridlepaths with some climbs and descents. Start is 7:15pm from Danefield Park, East Chevin Road, Otley Chevin (map ref 217.442) Race Calendar
