A NEW image has left Radcliffe Rotary Club with the Blues.
Incoming president David Beesley (53) has adopted the Blues Brothers' hit, Everybody Needs Somebody, to reflect his desire to boost membership.
Mr Beesley, of Tottington Road, Bury, believes that more members will result in more fun and hopes a new look club will attract fresh blood.
He received his chains of office from former president Peter Cooke at a club luncheon at Radcliffe Cricket Club.
For the past four months Mr Beesley, who is the managing director of an insurance broking office, has been planning his programme for the coming year. Community service at home and abroad will be the foundation stone and the club will continue to sponsor a seven-year-old Guatemalan girl and ensure she receives a decent education.
It is hoped that there will be a Christmas party for pensioners as well as a live band concert for youngsters, but both events are dependent on the generosity of local people when the Rotary's Santa's sleigh makes its annual street collection.
Local schools will also be targeted and some sort of competition is planned for both primary and secondary schools.
If you would like to join Mr Beesley's "Crazy Gang" and are interested in giving something back to your community, then you can find out more by ringing Gerry Faulkner on 764 5524.
