A VICAR today began a 36 hour non-stop unscripted sermon to try and talk his way into Guinness Book of Records.
The Rev Chris Sterry, vicar of Whalley Parish Church, began his improvised chapter and verse of the Old Testament from Genesis 1:1 at 6am.
He has to beat 27.5 hours to get the record, although he is aiming to last for 36 hours and finish at 6pm tomorrow.
Rev Sterry is trying to raise £2,000 for his parish.
