COMPANIES will have to give paid holidays to short-term and freelance staff following a ruling from the European Court of Justice.
Broadcast union BECTU challenged legislation that says workers are not entitled to holidays unless they work continuously for 13 weeks. Employment Minister Alan Johnson said the Government would consult employers and unions before bringing the Working Time Regulations in line with the judgment.
