THOUSANDS of pupils from local schools have enjoyed adventure breaks at outdoor education centres in the Lake District. Now youngsters can enjoy the delights of Wigan Council's centres at Hinning House, Seathwaite, and Low Bank Ground, on the shores of Coniston again, after curbs because of the foot and mouth crisis. More than 4,000 children from the borough's schools stay at the centres during the summer break.
