A PUBLIC-private partnership has come together to provide first-class facilities at Westleigh High School.
ABK Ltd, which leases cookers and microwaves, and design Food Technology classrooms for schools, has refurbished Westleigh's Food Technology room in order to provide a North West showcase for its products.
The rooms have a new floor, ceilings, lighting, furniture and equipment including industrial cookers for NVQ students.
This partnership, between the school and ABK Ltd, is thought to be the first of its kind in the country, while the company can show to other schools what it can provide.
The new rooms were opened at a special ceremony last week by guests of honour Richard Waterfield, of Waterfield's bakery, and Mike Fitton, of ABK Ltd. Headteachers from four local councils were also present.
