WALKERS in Ramsbottom can take to the hills again after Bury Council took the decision to re-open all footpaths.
Following a review of the current foot and mouth situation in the region, the decision to allow countryside users back on to the footpaths , primarily across Holcombe Moor was taken.
Coun Julie Higson, Bury's executive member for the environment, said: "We want to thank everyone for the tremendous way in which they have supported the farming community by abiding to the restrictions that have been in place."
