A SCHOOL which last week announced it is to become the first language college in East Lancashire now has a second reason for celebration.
All Saints' RC High School, Rawtenstall, has not won a languages for export award for schools in the north west. Deputy head teacher Mike Vizzard was invited to Manchester Town Hall for the prize giving and was delighted when his school's scheme was picked as the winner. The school runs a successful Italian for Business course in conjunction with the footwear community, the Italian consulate and funded by a local charity. It operates every Friday once the footwear industry closes for the weekend.
Now the school's scheme will be entered into the national competition.
