THREE Pendle men are working their way back to employment through a scheme based in Nelson.
Tackling Unemployment, in Carr Road, has paid for unemployed Drew Reading, 22, of Colne, Michael Dobson, 58, of Foulridge, and Ian Appleton, 28, of Barnoldswick, to undertake fork lift truck driving training and gain the new legally-required licence.
The trio have completed a week's training. Alison Smith, an employment mentor which is funded by European and Government money, said: "Lots of people may have gained skills with a company and may have attended in-house training courses but if they leave the company or are made redundant, they do not always have recognised qualifications showing that they have transferable skills when applying for a job."
