A RACE held in memory of Pendle window cleaner Roger Hargreaves, who died earlier this month in a motorbike accident, attracted more than 150 people of all ages.
Organised by members of Clayton-le-Moors Harriers, the five-mile race was started from the canal wharf by Mr Hargreaves' daughter Joanne and ended at the village green.
Mr Hargreaves' son James, 18, took part in the race -- entitled the Roger Hargreaves Memorial Foulridge Flyer -- and came in 48th place out of 158. His wife Sandra presented the prizes to the winners.
She said: "It was really nicely organised and the parish council donated the hall for it and people donated the trophies. It was really good and received a good turn out.
"It wasn't just professional runners that took part. There were a lot of James friends joined in, as well as eight or nine years old through to over 65s. People really made an effort.
"People have been very supportive. Roger was really well respected."
The money raised from the race will be split between several charities chosen by the family.
A concert and raffle to raise money for a memorial plaque or bench will be held on Tuesday, at 7.30pm, at St John Southworth Social Centre, in Nelson.
