WHERE does Burnley go from here? Fearing for personal safety and increasing the risk of segregation between Asian and white people in the town is certainly not the way to go.

Innocent people are being caught in the crossfire of minorities from both communities, which is causing disruptions in their lives.

Currently, my view is neutral; I don't feel the Asian or white communities have acted effectively in the light of this situation. If the minority of racist white people think they are going to introduce some sort of division between the communities and fit perfectly into the Nazi-type persona, then how mistaken are they?

How will you avoid being treated by the many Asian doctors who practice in Britain and will you refrain from eating curries?

The minority Asian racists are not even considering the long term repercussions of their foolish acts. They are jeopardising the future of the Asian culture in Britain and placing inocent Asians in danger.

If you are so concerned about being victims of racial discrimination, then why didn't you all vote? You always scream about your rights, you had the right to vote, but year after year you watched as Burnley became one of the constituencies with the highest percentage of BNP supporters.

How can you complain about your position when you don't try to find work and try to befriend the police rather than attacking them when they come in aid?

Some readers may be amused by my questions, but it is all obvious. These minorities are usually made up of unemployed, uneducated, narrow-minded and foolish social outcasts, who don't know how to be heard other than to cause mayhem.

I could quite easily write a book about all of this, but I think my time will be better spent educating the children in my family about moral values and social equality.

Despite Burnley having a high percentage of BNP supporters among a population of approximately 92,000, it had been a pleasant place to live. But I am deeply disheartened at recent events that are colouring my views of a thriving multi-racial community.

AMBREEN, Burnley.
