A WOMAN was taken to hospital yesterday after a bottle of nail varnish exploded in her face.
Paramedics said the woman, in her early 40s -- who has not been named -- put the nail varnish in a microwave to soften it.
Graham Bowen, of Lancashire Air Ambulance, said: "The bottle exploded as she took it out . She received lacerations to her nose, face and throat and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.
"The cuts in her neck were quite severe and will require stitches and she was very lucky her eyes were not damaged."
Longridge fire officers also attended the incident at Dunn's Bookmakers, in Bury Lane, Longridge, at around 2.15pm, where it is thought the woman worked.
