SNAP-happy youngsters armed with the latest digital technology will take to the streets this week putting parts of Blackburn in the frame.
As part of Artweek, a project organised by Groundwork Blackburn, youngsters will go into the Bank Top area to create artistic photographs.
Instead of using traditional photography methods the local youngsters will be using digital cameras to record different aspects of the local environment such as the people, places, green spaces and indeed anything that their interests or characterises the area. They will then use computers to transform the digital pictures into works of art.
Fiona Hargreaves, senior project officer at Groundwork Blackburn, said: "This is a really exciting project which should give the young people involved a great sense of achievement as well as the useful skills they will learn throughout the week.
The completed project -- which started on Monday and runs until Friday -- is supported by the National Lottery Charities Board and photos will be exhibited in Bank Top in September.
