SALIM Patel, 22, of Cowper Street, Blackburn, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months by Blackburn magistrates after pleading guilty to possessing cannabis.
He was ordered to pay £65 costs.
The court heard that police attended a report that a car had crashed into a wall in Sacary Lane, Mellor.
The officers found the car but there was no driver and when they checked the interior they found a small piece of cannabis.
Patel was traced as the owner and when he attended the police station, he was arrested and charged.
Patel, who had previously been cautioned for possession of cannabis, told the court that he only used it when stress builds up. "Things have got on top of my head lately," he said.
