WESTHOLME School left audiences wanting more during a four night production of Oliver.
The show had a cast of over 100 as well as a 32-piece orchestra. Jessica Foxley, 13, played the title role, with Louize Jaegar-Scott, 18, as Mr Bumble, Sally Crawshaw, 16, as the Artful Dodger and Elizabeth Small, 17, as Bill Sikes.
Anne McCauley, 18, who played Fagin, could be set for bigger things after she won a place at the National Youth Theatre. She hopes the company, which has launched many professional careers, will help her become an actor.
Many of the students had to fit rehearsals and performances around studying for A-levels or GCSEs.
The shows were held in their school's theatre hall with an audience of about 550 each night.
Holly Binge, director of the show and head of drama, said: "Oliver is great because there are so many strong characters so there is plenty of scope for our talented actors. I have really enjoyed it and hope our audience will too."
