LANCASHIRE Youth Games -- Swimming
BLACKBURN and Pendle swam to success in the pool as they picked up a clutch of medals between them.
The Blackburn team struck gold in the year five contest and finished third in both the year six and joint second in the disability swimming.
Pendle also picked up thee medals, winning the year six event and coming joint second in the year five finals with Lancaster and Pendle in the disability swimming.
The winning Pendle team was made up of Laura Blackwell, Georgina Wood, Meline Charwood, Emily Frate, Cavan Holleran Matt Naylor, Jonathan Hoyle and Tom Parker.
While the year six team won gold the borough's understrength disability team also did remarkably well.
Despite only having four swimmers -- James Thompson, Ben Thompson, Byrn Wiseman and Mathew Wiseman -- the still finished in joint second place. Hyndburn and Ribble Valley got among the medals with Hyndburn finishing joint third in the disability swimming while Ribble Valley were tied third with Preston in Year Five.
