AMERICAN Independence Day was celebrated at the Burnley Asda store.
There was a competition to guess the number of balloons in a car and a cake baked by members of the South West Burnley enterprise centre, who were provided with the ingredients by the store.
The store was also keeping it in the family as staff sons and daughters followed their mums' footsteps on to the shop floor.
Jackie Gardner is a check-out operator and her son, Andrew, works on the shop floor, while Margaret Gregson works in the cash office and her daughter, Helen Haddock, works in catering.
The twosomes took part in a friendly trolley dash round the aisles.
