MICHAEL Nott, a nine-year-old tennis sensation from Leyland, is the national champion of the Boys U9 Fred Perry Challenge event.
Michael reached the finals of the nine and under age group, by advancing through the first local rounds in dominant fashion.
He then defeated Robert Hall in the regional finals, which qualified him for the National finals at the annual pre Wimbledon, Club Med Cup, June 21-23.
After an exciting match Michael defeated Joe Salisbury to become the national champion of the Boys U9 event.
His prize was presented by Todd Martin on the centre court at the Club Med Cup. In addition Michael won a Fred Perry clothing contract as well as a day out with Fred Perry Limited at Wimbledon. Each year thousands of boys and girls enter the tournament with the hope of becoming National Champions and the dream of meeting their favourite tennis superstars at the Club Med Cup.
The future of British tennis rests in the talented hands of youngsters like Michael Nott.
