RAILTRACK engineer Nicola Abrahams has presented £2,700 towards the setting up of a resource centre and gym for Multiple Sclerosis sufferers.
Nicola's dad, Jeff, suffers from MS. The former painter and decorator was first affected by the condition about 17 years ago and is now wheelchair bound.
Nicola, 27, is a graduate engineer from Nottingham University and works as a management engineer in York.
She is a member of York Harriers but the April event was her first marathon. She completed the 26-mile course in three hours 48 minutes.
She presented £2,929 to the resource centre at Holmefield House, Barrowford, with the other £1,000 going to Action Research.
Her parents, Jeff, 57, and Val, live in Worsthorne. Val said: "She wanted to raise money for MS because of her dad.
"She received lots of support from family and friends, from work colleagues and from Railtrack and associated companies."
Jeff used to attend Holmefield House where a new resource centre and gym is scheduled to be opened in the new future.
