SCHOOLCHILDREN from across the area enjoyed a visit to the theatre this week as members of the Storytellers Theatre Company brought a fairytale to life at Worden Arts Centre, in Worden Park, Leyland.
Youngsters were wowed with a very special performance of The Wind in the Willows shown in the Marsden Theatre on the park on Monday and Tuesday this week. The Storytellers Theatre Company production featured just two actors -- with performers having to play a handful of roles.
The Lancashire-based theatre company, based in Blackburn and Wigan, formed in 1987 One of the duo, actress Rebecca Davis said: "I believe that this company invented the 'two-handed' production, as a bet. Now, the furthest North we have travelled is the Shetland Isles, and the furthest South is Jersey.
"In Wind in the Willows, the male actor plays the parts of Toad and Ratty. Then I play all the rest."
