ANCIENT Egypt will burst into life at Lytham St Annes High Technology College next week.
A cast of more than 30 pupils will present Pharaoh, written by Danell Dearden, head of expressive and performing arts, in the school's new sixth form block and theatre area.
The show, on July 11 and 12, explores the murder of the boy king Tutankhamun and will feature dance, drama, improvisation and physical theatre performed by key stage three pupils. Miss Dearden said: "We got pupils from years seven, eight and nine together and one of them came up with the idea of doing something on Tutankhamun and I thought 'we've got something here.' It isn't like a musical in that there's no people singing but we have designed a wicked sound track."
