I AM writing in response to the letter about nursery education in Eccleston (June 21).
As the letter mentioned free education at private nurseries is available for three-year-olds. We would like to let people know that there are good private nurseries, including our own, Busy Bears on Burrows Lane, Eccleston and Heirs and Graces on Greenfield Road, which provide the free education for two-and-a-half hours per day per week and still have places.
School nurseries are often parents' first choice, especially for children who will go on to attend the main school. It gets children familiar with the school building, staff and school ethos. Private nurseries also run the same Foundation Curriculum and are Ofsted inspected like school nurseries, but can also offer child care around the free two-and-a-half hours education, if required by parents.
At Busy Bears we have children starting each term after their third birthday and we are registered to take up to 50 children up to five years so we could accept any of the 30 children in Eccleston which the school can not accommodate.
SUE Brindley, manager, Busy Bears Nursery, Burrows Lane, Eccleston.
