MONTY, the injured Jack Russell terrier dumped by cruel owners, has found a new home this week.
The dog, which was being cared for at Easterleigh Animal Sanctuary, in St Annes, went to new owners in Cleveleys on July 1.
The sanctuary had between 30 and 40 calls after The Citizen highlighted Monty's plight two weeks ago.
He had suffered a broken nose and his teeth had been knocked out while, it was believed, he was being used for badger baiting.
Easterleigh volunteer Lee Scott said that staff at the animal sanctuary were thrilled that Monty had been happily rehoused and were overwhelmed by the generous response from concerned readers.
"We even got people ringing up to ask about him, just to see if he was OK, even though they couldn't take him themselves.
"We managed to get him a home this week and he is settling in OK. He went to Dave and Margo Brown, in Anchorsholme Lane East, Cleveleys, whose elderly Jack Russell died earlier this month.
"We have been so pleased with the response," he added.
