MORE than £1,000 has been raised to help the fight against strokes.
Margaret Patrick, chairman of The Leigh and District Farming Ladies, presented a cheque for £1,450.00 to Vera Stringer for the North West Stroke Association at Hope Hospital.
The money had been raised at various events over the past year.
Precautions to prevent the spread of the foot and mouth virus lead to the cancellation of the women's group meetings in the early months of this year. FUND-RAISER: Margaret Patrick (right), presents the cheque to Vera Stringer
