By Teri Jones A FOUR-YEAR-OLD boy was left in intensive care after being knocked off his bike at the weekend.
The accident happened when Matthew James Mason was riding his bike near his home in Warwick Road, Atherton, on Sunday afternoon.
At about 2.15pm, the youngster was in a collision with a Volkswagon Passat, driven by Tyrone Wall, of Devonshire Road, Atherton, at the junction of Somerset Road and Warwick Road, on the Hag Fold Estate.
Matthew was rushed to the Royal Bolton Infirmary, then transferred to the neuro-surgical ward at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in Pendlebury.
A police spokesman said: "There is no suggestion that the driver of the vehicle was at fault."
Matthew's family have been too upset to comment.
